College football analytics can be useful for several reasons:
- Post-season declaration of a "National Champion".
- Bowl-game selection committees, when considering changes to
future conference commitments and when selecting at-large teams
would like to select teams to satisfy a number of criteria: maximize
attendance and fan interest; maximize competitiveness (keeping the
game competitive to the end leads to higher advertiser interest
and thus higher media rates in the 3rd and 4th quarters..)
- Fair, unbiased and well understood ranking systems.
- We have our own ranking system found here
